The Cape to Cape Track in the Margaret River Region, Western Australia has been named in Australia's top six walking hotspots for 2015 by leading travel website Experience Oz.
The walk trail, which runs for 135km from Cape Naturaliste in the north to Cape Leeuwin in the south, is the longest coastal track in Australia, with spectacularly diverse scenery along the way.
Meandering along stunning coastline, through tall karri forest and rugged headlands and rock formations, Experience Oz affirms that "all of the staples of incredible coastal scenery are encountered at their untouched best on the Cape to Cape walk."
The track is a popular hiking option for both locals and visitors, and can be walked in approximately five to seven days or broken into short day walks.
Augusta Margaret River Tourism Association Chief Executive Officer Pip Close advised that the Cape to Cape Track was an asset to the Margaret River Region.
"The Cape to Cape is walk trail of remarkable diversity - the changing scenery is quite extraordinary," said Ms Close.
"We are delighted that it has been recognised as one of Australia's walking hotspots for 2015, and we hope this encourages visitors to come and experience it for themselves," she said.
Experience Oz Digital Marketing Manager Matt Hobbs said hikes and walks are not only for the professionals, but for any outdoor enthusiast who was keen to experience the stunning natural beauty Australia has to offer.
“Australia is renowned for having some truly incredible walking and hiking tracks, so we encourage all outdoor enthusiasts to discover the hidden treasures that are just waiting to be enjoyed,” Mr Hobbs said.
“The geographical diversity of Australia ensures there's something for everyone," he said.
The Cape to Cape was named in the top six walks amongst the Twelve Apostles, the Overland Track, Bay of Fires Walk, the Blue Mountains and the Flinders Ranges.
